Many people go throughout their day with their minds racing with thoughts.
This may be you or someone you know. It may even be something you’ve experienced in the past, but it is not currently happening to you.
It can be very annoying and cause difficulty with concentration.
There is a meditation I learned about that can greatly help with this.
Next time your mind won’t stop nagging you, consider doing this (especially if you’re having trouble falling asleep):
Think of 2 people.
One at a time, wish for him or her to be happy.
That’s it.
Sound hoaky?
That’s ok.
Try it.
This can be effective when done alone, but it can also be effective when done in public.
No one needs to know that you are doing this.
Pick a stranger while you’re on line checking out at the grocery store.
Choose someone in another car while you’re sitting in traffic.
Select any 2 people you’d like.
The reason this works: A lot of time these racing thoughts are self-centered. They have to do with our life-situation, or our concern and worries about others. Key word: OUR.
Taking the time to focus our positive energy on others diverts the mind from ourselves.
Do this daily and watch yourself change along with your mood.
It only takes 10 seconds.😀
