The afternoon comes around and sometimes we find ourselves with low energy.

Perhaps it’s from a heavy lunch or we’ve been working hard since we woke up.

To combat this, here’s what I do:

I take a power nap!

What’s a power nap?

Power naps are not actual moments to go to sleep. Instead they range anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.

Ideally they last 20-30 minutes.

Personally I like the 10 minute nap during a work day and on my days off I’ll do more of a 20-30 minute nap.

All you have to do is set a timer on your phone. Just lay back and close your eyes.

You likely will not actually fall asleep and that’s ok. I almost never fall asleep during a power nap.

The cool thing though, is it gives you more energy than a caffeinated beverage will, and you don’t feel groggy like you would if you slept longer than 30 minutes.

At the office? No problem. Just go to your car for 10 minutes. I promise, I won’t tell!

Besides, your coworkers will be happy you’re in a better mood and more productive.

Give it a try!
