My wife wanted to go on a date night last week. Before we went out she sent me a text with the following exercise.

Before I sent this out to you I thought “Well what about people who don’t have a significant other?” and immediately dismissed that.

This exercise can be very powerful for any relationship you have in your life: mother/daughter, father/son, sisters, etc.

So without further adieu here is the exercise:

**************

1) List 3 Things You Love About The Other Person

2) List 1-3 Things You Would Like For Your Relationship & Family Going Forward

3) Describe 1 Thing You Will Work On For The Other Person

4) Describe 1 Thing You Want The Other Person To Work On For You

**************

When I first got the text I thought I’d be too busy to get this done. She sent it to me while I was at work and I had a lot to do.

I still made time for this because she’s a priority to me. We have to make time for the relationships in our lives.

I asked her where she got this from and she said she made up the questions herself.

She’s really something!

Please take a moment to do this exercise with someone. It’s more important than you think and leads to a wonderful conversation that could impact the rest of your lives together.
